Singles Competition

Information

The rare Singles events to provide Singles badminton players more enjoyable games! (Please ignore Partner wording in the form, as system is not yet updated for Singles)

Due to high court & shuttle costs, lack of platforms for Singles players, in league matches or club sessions, therefore we have looked into court availability and plan Singles Competition on monthly basis, based on level range. See March dates below:

Sun 15 Mar: A, B, C Level
Sun 22 Mar: C, D, E Level
Sun 29 Mar: B, C, D level
(Ladies may get 5 handicap points in A & B levels, to decide based on grading)

Time: register at 2.40pm, start at 3pm, 3-5 hours per date. April dates TBC
(if more entries then may split start time for different levels)

Venue: Harris Academy St John’s Wood
Entrance at Finchley Road, NW8 0NL (Entrance is NOT at Marlborough Hill, though you may park around there and walk past Boundary Road to Finchley Road)

Level explanation:
A: Advanced – BE Bronze & above (include final lists in Tier 4, or equivalent)
B: High Intermediate – average BE Tier 4 level, mid-division league players, or equivalent
C: Intermediate – lower league players, or equivalent
D: Social players – non-league players
E: Improver & lower level

Prize

Medals & freebies would be awarded for Gold/Silver/Bronze winners. (No cash bonus set as aim to bring cost down so most Singles players can afford it on regular basis)

Entry Fees & Payment –

It is Non-Refundable but can be transferred to other player – £22 per day. If play 2 days then £44, 3 days then £66. Please only select one level per day as we may combine some levels based on turnouts. Please select the right level to help plan the grouping.

Games Format:

The votes are very mixed for either play best of three with 3 players or one set with 5 players, so we will decide our end based on final entries as below:

• if 3 players in a group, round robin, best of three to 21 points
• if 4 players in a group, round robin, best of three to 15 points
• if 5 players in a group, round robin, one set to 21 points
  (no settings in group stage, with settings for finals)

Registration & How it works on eBadders

ENTRY CLOSING DATE: 3 days before each Competition day. (Will close early if full!)
- Entries are only reserved when payments received. First come, first serve.
- Rules and groupings will be announced 1-2 days before the event.
- First system generated email will be sent once you registered, but your spot is not reserved until we received payments from you.
- Second system generated email will be sent once you paid to confirm your spot.
